Watermelon Chill

This magic potion is soothing, sweet, hydrating, cleansing and relaxing. It is the best thing after working hard in the heat, especially if the work was stressful and you were surrounded by unpleasant people. Refreshing watermelon counteracts the damaging effects of the sun and cools the body while lemon balm sooths the nerves.

Ingredients

Watermelon
Lemon balm
Water
Ice cubes (optional)

  1. Stuff fresh lemon balm loosely into a 2 cup heat proof container. Pour boiling hot water over the lemon balm, cover it to keep the goodness from escaping and allow to steep for 5 minutes. Strain and chill.
  2. Cut up 2 cups worth of watermelon cubes and put them in a container in the freezer to chill. Do not allow it to freeze solid unless your blender is much better than mine.
  3. Pour the watermelon cubes into the blender. Pour the lemon balm tea on top. Blend
  4. Pour into a glass, over ice if you like, and enjoy.

A splash of vodka and/or lemoncello will turn this refresher into a cocktail if that’s the way you want to go.
