A spell jar is a sympathetic magic item that creates the energetic environment of your spell’s intention inside a jar.

Generally, a spell jar contains the following

1. Something to represent the target(s)
   A taglock, a picture, a signature, bodily fluids, a poppet, whatever
   If the spell is to bind a couple or break up a couple, both individuals should have their stuff in the jar.
2. Something to represent what should happen to the target
   To improve the mood or attitude of the target: Sweet things, their favorite things, herbs and crystals to elevate mood
   To make them uncomfortable: Sharp things, hot things, things they don’t like, thorns, wasps, pepper, etc.
   For protection: Surround the taglock with things that break up energy, protective objects, mirrors and sharp things
   To not notice something: Paint the inside of the jar lack or coat it with lamp black. Items related to blindness and confusion.

You can use any jar. It doesn’t have to be purchased special. Re-use, recycle.  Wash it well.

The jar is assembled ritualistically, according to tradition. Usually a candle is lit, the items are charged and named, they are placed in the jar while the intention is stated. Chants and/or prayers are said, The jar is sealed with candle wax. If it’s a binding spell, lots of extra string may be wrapped around the jar and knotted.

The jar should then be buried or hidden near the target’s house.
