A sachet is a general term for a bundle of items wrapped in cloth or tucked into a small bag. When we witches talk about it, we’re generally talking about a little portable spell that takes the shape of a bundle of items wrapped in cloth or tucked into a small bag.

Sachets often contain a variety of items intended to create an energetic atmosphere around the immediate vicinity of the sachet. As such, they are kept in the location meant to be affected. If a person is to receive the effect, they should carry the sachet with them or keep it near them. Sachets for work may be kept in the office. Those for protection during travel might be kept in a car. Those for fabulous sex, might be kept in the bedroom. Etc.

Other general terms for this sort of thing might be witch bag or spell bag.

The term poke can also refer to this sort of bag but it seems to be very region-specific. Appalachian, I believe. (Could be wrong. )

Different traditions create different and more specialized bundles wrapped in fabric and these may have different names such as mojo bag or medicine bag. These are tradition-specific items that may or may not resemble what I’m talking about here. Some are much more religion than magic.
