Cashew

Anacardium occidentale

Cashews grow on small tropical evergreen trees. The nuts grow on the bottom of the fruit called a cashew apple. The cashew apples are extremely fragile and cannot be shipped to foreign markets, but the cashew nuts are removed from their hard shells, which contain a caustic substance that can cause serious damage to the kin, and shipped all over the world.
